World champions!

Celebrate_462In the top of the ninth, everyone was thinking, "Hey, we are here and we are ready to win it. Make sure that we get it done. Just take it out by out. Don't get too excited and don't get too ahead of ourselves and just stay focused."

This is amazing, amazing. This is the best feeling in the world right now. We have an impressive group of guys that just love each other. We just fed off each other for the whole playoffs and all of the emotions. It's incredible right now.

Jeff Weaver threw outstanding. All of our pitchers threw outstanding, from the starters to the bullpen. They all did a great job. All of our players did a great job.

This is amazing, being with the entire team and enjoying a champagne shower. I could do this all year. I can get used to this. I have been dreaming about this all my life.

Just wanted to say thanks for all of your inside perspective, giving us all a glimpse of what a player thinks and feels in all these situations. I was there for game four and the atmosphere was great, and I could tell that game 5 was even better. Hope all of our (fans) support helped. Also I always hope to see a J-Rod at bat. Thanks for a great year.

John, may you have many more special moments like this. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Congrats!! Now what am I going to do for the next few months?!!!!

CONGRATS to you and to the entire Cardinals team! We here in St. Louis are estatic and celebrated right with you in spirit! You showed all the so-called critics and nay sayers! Enjoy that ring and the parade. Couting the days until next season already.
St. Louis Cardinals--2006 World Series Champs! It doesn't get any sweeter!!!

I had faith in you guys from the get go. Congratulations Cardinals!!!! And to all of ESPN who didn't believe, you know who you are, here's looking at you. The Cardinals proved to the world that they were the best team this year dispite having key injuries this year and nearly falling apart at the end of the year. I had faith in you guys and I just want to say THANKS.

Congratulations to you John Rodriguez and the rest of the 2006 STL Cardinals. We believed and achieved. It was a great feeling to watch you all celebrate as a team last night. I wish you many more memories exactly like this. Thanks. GO CARDS!!!
Kim

YOU DID IT, CUZ!

YOU ARE A WORLD CHAMPION! LIVE IN THE MOMENT! I KNEW YOU GUYS COULD DO IT! AND LOOK AT YOU WITH THOSE GOGGLES ON...HAHA. ENJOY IT CUZ. YOU WORKED SO HARD FOR THIS, SO HARD!

J DIAZ

I can't even beleive this! Weaver is unreal! You all did amazing. I cried my eyes out when we won how exciting was that. I am so happy for us but Jim Edmonds he really deserves this since it could be the end of his career soon! Congratulations boys I am so proud and happy! It still doesn't seem real but I am never going to forget this! I can die happy lol... Thanks for making our dreams come true, Congrats to all of us Cards fans! Lets live this one up and enjoy every second! WOOOOO!!!

Words cannot express how proud we are of this team, nor can words express the joy of being the 2006 World Series Champions.

Weaver was magnificent!! He may have been searching the past few years, but I do believe his search is over. He has found a home.

Wainwright, in my book, is a star who I hope shines brightly in St. Louis for many years to come.

Eckstein, who I beleive is the grittiest player in baseball,is the kind of team player no baseball team should EVER be without.

Molina, what can you say? When the going gets tough, the tough get going and he sure proved that to be true.

Rolen, we depend on him so much and ne never lets us down. We love ya man!!

Centerfield belongs to Edmunds and always will.

Albert, one of the best players to ever play the game of baseball. A class act on the field or off. Here is hoping that he is a lifetime Cardinal.

To the rest of the new players on the team, where would be without you guys. You are loved by one and all.

And my hat is off to you John for being there when we needed you, may your reign in St. Louis last for many many years to come.

The Cardinals are not just a St. Louis team, they are a Missouri team, and we are all proud of our Cardinals.

John, congratulaions on an achievment well deserved, for this entire team!! What heart ya all have. I'm pretty much at a loss to express my feelings, so I won't babble on. So thanks for the season, and thanks for giving St. Louis fans what we crave which is simply, St. Louis Cardinal baseball, and most of all thanks for finally silencing all the naysayers, although it took until the very last out, and than Joe Buck and Tim McCarver were speechless for for about 30 seconds, and they of all people to not back you guys even a little, oh well you showed them you are World Champions!! Can't wait till next year!

Congratulations JRod and the World Series Champs. I'm so proud of you guys, you deserve it. Thank you for writing in everyday on this blog and letting us know what the reactions were from the players. I have to say this was the first website I went to in the morning. All of the players did a great job, especially Molina, Edmonds, Taguchi, Exckstein,Wainwright and all of the pitching staff. I'm so proud of everyone on the team. I wish the best for you and the rest of the Cardinals. I hope all of them come back next year because this is the best team there is in baseball.
Have a wonderful offseason and just enjoy this.

Love ya

Lindsey :)

Weaver, no matter what people say, I knew you could do it and man, you showed the world. You did a fantastic job, can't wait to see yall next season.

Eck, you're a HUGE asset to the team, I love how you always give 150%.

Molina/Rolen, man you boys really had a hot streak goin at the end, awesome.

Wainwright, thank you, you, Tyler, Randy, Josh K. and A. Reyes really came through in the postseason, yall have a bright future, keep up the excellent work.

La Russa/Duncan/rest of the Team, yall did an awesome job this season, I wish I was still living near St. Louis to celebrate w/ Cardinal Nation. Keep up the good, see yall next season and THANK YOU.

To the Tigers: yall did a fantastic job as well, excellent team/management/coaching, see yall next season.

There is nothing else to say other than you guys are the most amzing bunch of baseball players in the world. It was relaxing to see that the entire rotation came together and finally shut the MLB experts up. Not too many Cardinal fans are here on the east where I am stationed in the Navy. I wear my Cardinal apparel proud everyday and can now wear my World Champion Cardinal apparel proud. Congratulations guys!!! Wish I could be there to celebrate in the great city of St. Louis and outstanding state of Missouri.

WOW!!! I'm so excited for you and the whole CARDINAL organization. All the true CARDINAL fans knew you all would win it and do it home!! Enjoy your partying..you all deserve it! Hope you have a good offseason and can't wait till Spring Training!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS '06!!! JROD, thanks again for the blog and taking the time to give the fans a players view.

You all were GREAT!! I'm so proud of this team.

Weaver was just...amazing. I don't care what anyone else has said, WE LOVE HAVING YOU AS A CARDINAL!!!

Wainwright (and the bullpen) REALLY stepped up this post season. Great job, guys!

All of our key players made clutch plays this series, but one of the best parts is that everyone did something.

JROD, thank you so much for this blog! I hope you're a Cardinal forever!!

Congrats, guys! Enjoy it!

Still can't believe it. What an awesome feeling, what a great moment, what a great night. Unbelivable.

WAY TO GO CARDS!! World Series CHAMPIONS!!! Before the Playoffs began, I picked the Tigers and Cardinals in the WS and the Cardinals to win it in 5 games. I honestly believed that the Cardinals would get healthy in time and play the game the right way... playing hard, smart and fundamental baseball. That's what I love and what I've loved for the last 19 years.

This is truly an awesome time for Redbird nation and I hope that it'll become a norm. I hope we can keep most of the team and I believe if the players truly mean it when they say they love St. Louis and its organization, then they'll try to make due with whatever they're offered.

WAY TO GO CARDINALS!!! THE BEST TEAM IN MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL... PERIOD!

go white sox

To John, The World Champion Cardinals Team and their classy, well-deserving fans:

Congratulations to all of you. You had a great season and deserve what you have accomplished. I am a huge Tigers fan and am proud of what we have accomplished as well. I only wish we could have given you a better battle.

I have always enjoyed my stays when in St Louis. I mingled with Cardinal fans last weekend while downtown at the games. You are all "world-class" and I couldn't be happier for you.

Its going to be a long, long winter for me and many others here in Michigan. But we hold our heads high. Beating the Yankees helps extend the neck muscles. Losing to a class organization like yours will be looked at as a learning experience.

Lets do it again next year.

Congrats again, you are the best.

J-Rod, You are My favorite Cardinal! You (The Cardinals) Inspire me!I hope you are with this orginaztion for years to come! Here is a little poem I wrote...

83 wins all we had,

Made the post season and I'm kinda glad.

Worst team ever, countless wrote,

Look who's popping champagne down there throat.

Under dogs the name they gave,

Yet Cardinal Nation stayed strong and brave.

One said, Tigers in 3, Red Bird Nation now full with glee

Small things win championships yes they do..

First world series since 82.

Some Crazy Teen Cardinal Fan

LOL on the few random commenters stopping in to still bash the Cards. You won't be hearing any aruguments from us, because we don't need to! Our World Series Championship says it all!
CONGRATS, CONGRATS, CONGRATS!!! You made our dreams come true. What a great feeling!!! Ah... cherish them moment!! :) See you at the parade!

Thx, borth! Classy comments from a class organization. Detroit is a fantastic team. I really enjoyed watching the clips of them mingling with the St. Louis fans before the game. Without a doubt, you guys have much to be proud of and it looks like you'll have most of your whole team back next year.. and no doubt, you'll be back.. so untl then.. keep beating those Yanks!
Congrats again St. Louis Cardinals.. World Series Champs!! I love the sound of it!! :)

John...The BEST in the WORLD!! Hows it feel. We are so proud of you guys. We already got our Winter Warmup tickets and these two truckers can't wait to see you there.Give our love to the team. I HAD to come back...you know I can't keep my mouth (or fingers) shut!!
As a HUGE Tigers fan I want to again say congrats to the Cardinals and their fans. you deserve to party like it's 1982......Along with the Tigers the Cardinals are one of the greatest old school classiest organizations in Baseball. The fans of both are no exception. When I see Cards fans posting congrats to us over in Nates blog and us Tigers fans doing the same here. I realize this is true!

It was fun messin with you the last few days and in case you didn't see my other post Aimee I hope you and your son are cherishing this to it's fullest! God bless and love them Tigers!!!!!

Total team effort this season, total team effort this post season. When one player was injured or in a slump, another would pick it up and get the job done. Way to stay focused, way to put your hearts into it. Thank you, Cardinals, for a fantastic season. Looking forward to the celebration tomorrow.

Grindline . . . I've enjoyed your posts. Hope to hear from you next year.

CONGRATULATIONS JOHNNY LOAD!!!

Soak it in and whoop it up at the parade tomorrow.

Have a great offseason, John, and we'll see you in Spring Training '07!!

Champions of baseball!

Grind,

Congrats to your Tigers for coming as far as they did. We will be looking for you next year. You are always welcome in this Cardinal house.

Now what do we do until baseball starts again, LOL

Guess I'll just watch the Young and the Restless and teach myself to knit.

Have a good winter and see ya next spring.

J-Rod,
Congrats on winning the WS!!WOW!WOW!WOW!IS all I can say.GL next year. -Rikki-

J-Rod and Cards,
It was great to be there last night to see you guys win it all. This season had it ups and downs but my hats off to the entire team for never giving up and playing with so much heart. And J-Rod thanks for coming back out last night and celebrating with us. WE ARE WORLD CHAMPS WOO HOOO!!!!!

I just wanted to thank you all for the great ride through this season, it was well worth all the suspense. You all played well and deserve this championship. Way to Go!! I was always proud to be a Cardinal fan and this is the pay-off! Thanks for everything! Can't wait to see you all back next season!!! Especially you John!!! Thanks!

I hear ya glowery I need to get back to some things in the real world too... like sleeping, eating etc. I also owe my girlfriend a ton of dinners and movies for our TSDTP (temporary seperation due to playoffs!)
Anyway have a good one and have a great winter.

I'm just so happy! Happy for all of you guys and as happy as a die-hard Cardinals fan can be and then some. I keep watching the and I keep tearing up. You guys deserve this. It was awesome to watch and I wish I could've been there. See you boys when you play in Denver next year.

I have been a Cardinal fan ever since I knew what baseball was, so was my dad, and family. I am from Missouri but have lived in Texas for almost 45 years. I grew up listening to Harry Caray, Jack Buck and later Mike Shannon on KMOX when we went home for vacations. I watch the Redbirds on TV every chance I get and follow on the computer the rest of the time.
I am so proud of all of you and congratulations do not say enough for all of the hard work you all have done in getting where you are!!!! Wearing the "BIRD'S ON THE BAT" has got to be the biggest thrill you could have in baseball. It is the biggest thrill you could have as a fan to root for the Cardinals. How I wish that Jack Buck could have called strike 3 on the final out last night!!!

The Cardinal fans are the best in baseball because we have the best group of guys on our team, they are all team players!!!

A member of the Cardinal Nation here in Texas SALUTES YOU ALL, THANK YOU SO MUCH AND LET'S DO IT AGAIN REAL SOON!!

I am speechless. I've never seen this city like I did last night. It makes the Superbowl look like nothing. This is a baseball town, and you guys are the reason for that. I was born and raised in St. Louis, and have patiently waited for this moment for 24 years. Thank you all so much for making this dream a reality. Thank God I can finally shave off this playoff beard. God bless all of you and all of Cardinal Nation!!!!

Just like the late Jack Buck said in '88.." I don't believe what I just saw! I still don't believe what I just saw". Well, I was feeling similar to that throughout the Series vs. Detroit. I've been a Cards fan my entire life and to see the Redbirds win the World Series means so much to me. I feel as though I can forget about what happened in '85,'87, & the collapse in '04. It's just amazing how they did it the first year in their new stadium. I'm from St. Louis but I live in Indianapolis and I'm proud to be a Cards fan. I grew up listening to Jack Buck/Mike Shannon on KMOX, and Harry Carey on WGN. Everytime I'd come home to visit I'd watch the Cards on Channel 11. I can't put into words the way I felt seeing you guys put away the Tigers considering all the hype the media gave Detroit. I just want to say thank you for all the heart, soul, body, & spirit you all gave this year & I'm looking forward to seeing this happen again. The Cardinals are the World Champions of (beisbol)baseball. THANK YOU!!! GOD BLESS

CARDINALS ROCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU GUYS FOR A GREAT SEASON AND AN AMAZING ENDING !!! I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE AT BUSCH STADIUM LAST NIGHT!!!!!! YEAH CARDS, I KNEW YOU WOULD DO IT !!!!!! JOJO

Omg, This was one of the best nights of my life...Amazing, simply AMAZING! Thanks to you John, and the rest of the 2006 BEST IN THE WORLD St. Louis Cardinals...Being at Busch last night for all 9 innings with the rest of the crazy crowd made me so proud to be the #1 fan in Cardinal Nation...Like one HUGE HAPPY FAMILY! You all made this Bud Light girl very excited...Hope to see you at the parade Mr. Rodriguez sir! :) PC

I am disappointed in the handling of the celebration tickets. Why not a limit of two per person as with the World Series tickets? That way twice as many families could be represented in the stadium tomorrow. How frustrating to sit in the virtual waiting room for over an hour knowing others were getting 4 tickets and probably heading to e-bay. Yup, just checked and sure enough groups of 4 are on e-bay already. Will the rally be broadcast? Guess I'll be watching from home.

WORLD SERIES CHAMPS BABY!!!!

I have never felt the emotions I felt last night, but I sure liked it! I never want to lose this memory; I will cherish it until the next World Series comes to town. Cardinals are the best team ever, there is no doubting this, and other people can say whatever the **** they want about our 83 wins; its 94 wins now, losers. Jealousy *****, but oh well.

Oh yeah, by the way, I live in Columbia(born in St. Louis though), and believe me it was crazy here, but I heard in St. Louis, people were partying so hard over the win, that some bars COMPLETELY ran out of alcohol. Gotta love it! Thats my city!!

to my Cardinal team: Relish in this moment and commend yourself for your hard work and perseverance. I will never forget this day.

This is my first year away from Saint Louis. I'm a freshman at Mizzou and most of my friends are Royals fans so it was soooo exciting when you guys won!! I knew all along that you could!!! It was amazing - after the last out, we ran outside to the balcony of our dorm and it seriously sounded like a riot was going on...people were pouring out the doors and screaming out their windows, air horns were going off...it was just the best feeling to know that even though I'm not at home, I can still feel like a "part" of CARDINALS baseball! =) Then today at the Mizzou vs. Oklahoma game, they announced your win and the entire stadium cheered - louder for the Cards then for Mizzou - YAY! I was so excited!! Congratulations!!! THE CARDINALS ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!

Congratulations, J-Rod! Thank you guys so much for bringing a Championship to our wonderful city. It really means the world for us and literally impacts our daily lives. We can't thank you guys enough, you're all the best, and every single guy on this roster will never be forgotten throughout Cardinal Nation. We'll refer to every one of you guys as "So-and-so, member of the 2006 World Championship team."

I'll be at the parade tomorrow, although I couldn't get tickets into Busch. Still, I'll be cheering on from the streets and taking pictures, so be ready to do some outrageous **** for the camera, man! GO CARDS! 2006 WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!

Congratulations on being World Champions! You guys completely deserve it! I'm with several other people though, what are we going to do until Spring Training?

Congratulations again! Thanks for making all of Cardinal Nation so happy and proud!

J-Rod and the rest of the World Champion Cardinals!!
Thanks for the best season ever!! My children and I have been riveted to every televised game since we had to move away from the STL area two and a half years ago. We have been waiting for this moment and are thoroughly enjoying every ounce of it with you!! You're the best and we love you all!! Congratulations!! Can't wait until April!!

Hi there,
As a very sad Tigers fan, you guys deserve a Huge round of applause. Two teams that they didn't expect to get this far, how great is that!! I hope we meet again next year, same time same place :) Good job cards

J-Rod, Thank you so much for this blog! I've enjoyed reading it so much after each game. Congrats. on the win, and hope you and the Cardinals have many, many, many more!! I can't wait for tomorrow!

this had to be one of the most pathetic world series I HAVE EVER SEEN! no heroics, no intensity, no huge plays, etc... etc... etc... poor play by the tigers, poor play by the cardinals. PERIOD! how could anyone be satisfied to win a trophy under these circumstances? every player on that field should be ashamed that they played in the 2006 world series! and the cards won't be remembered as much for winning the world series as much as the tigers will be remembered for GIVING AWAY THE WORLD SERIES! that's right, the cardinals did not win the world series...IT WAS HANDED TO THEM! im NOT a tigers fan..im NOT a cardinals fan, im a BASEBALL FAN! you guy's flat out stunk the joint up! when people think of the 06 world series the ONLY thing they will remember is DIRTGATE! and rogers was not on your team so you will NOT be remembered! enjoy your pathetic little trophy, and your pathetic little parade, for it will be another 20 some years before you are in the world series again!

Congrats from a Tigers fan =) You guys were great to watch and I'm glad it was a Cards/Tigers World Series. Enjoy your celebration - y'all deserve one!

Hey Ajax, I sense some hostility; are you a Mets fan? The fact that you honestly think we would care about ANYTHING you could possibly have to say after winning the WS is beyond me, and I feel for you. You must lead a pretty pathetic existence, but as classy Cardinals fans, we wish you the best and hope that someday your team may be so lucky as us. But with an attitude like that, its going to be a long 2007 baseball season for you my friend. Love us, or hate us, we won fair and square. Of course you aren't going to find the heroics- your team wasn't there! Now go and learn some manners, will you?

Go CARDINALS!! DON'T LISTEN TO THIS *******, YOU DESERVE IT AND ALL ITS GLORY!

Way to go J-Rod! And I thought you were just here for the Bud Light! :)
CARDINALS RULE!!!

Thanks for this blog first of all it let us all know that you guys weren't panicking, second CONGRATULATIONS!!!!Thanks so much for bringing a World Series Championship to St.Louis!!CARDINALS RULE!!!!

Though a lifelong Tiger fan, I can certainly appreciate the great things you and your teammates did this year. Congratulations and enjoy....maybe we'll meet again same time next year!!

J-Rod and Cardinals,
Congrats and thank you for this championship. I have been a Cards fan since the second I was born and I have been waiting for 21 years to see my Birds on the Bat as World Series champs. It was a dream come true and an honor to be in the stands at Busch on friday to see you guys win, and I just thank you all for this championship that you all earned and deserved!!

I am so proud of this team for everything you did this year and I am even prouder to be a part of Cardinal Nation. Thank you again, congrats, and God Bless. GO CARDS!!!!!!!

J-Rod,

You tell the Big "T" to stay right where he is. Remind him, that even from 11 years back, he has been loved and appreciated and as long as he wants, he will always be welcome in St.Lou!!!

Cardinal Nation, it's time for a Baseball Dynasty in the National League. Do the math...

LARUSSA = MANAGER OF THE YEAR

J-Rod,

Thank J-rod and the entire Cardinal's organization for all the great baseball and memories!!! My entire family from my 85 year old grandpa to 2 year old brother all came over so we could be together when you guys won. Thank you for a family moment I will never forget. St Louis Cardinal's 2006 World Series Champions just sounds amazing! We can't wait for winter to end and be there on opening day when you receive your rings.

LARUSSA=MANAGER OF THE YEAR (again)

how come Juan Encarnacion wasn't in the parade or in the stadium?? What happend to him?

this cardinal team should be an inspiration to everyone who has ever been told they can't accomplish something

WOW!!! I knew you guys could do it, but it still seams soooo sureal. CONGRATS John, and all the players!!!!! You have made the Lou so proud! What a wild ride this post season has been, and what a great way to break in the new stadium!! Enjoy your victory fellas, I know Cardinal Nation will!!

And to any Tiger fans still around, hats off to you and your team. You truely are class through and through. Hope for a rematch next year.

What a fantastic World Series! Congrats to you and to Detroit.. and the Mets too. All superb teams! It's great to be back on top where the Cardinals belong!

World Series Champions forever!! How's that feel?!! I know we love it! :) Thanks again for this year. We'll never forget it!

John
Just wanted to say congratulations to the 2006 World Champions!

As you recall I had posted a blog about my son having surgery twice in Pittsburgh and how big a Cardinals fan he was and his mother too! Just wanted to let you and the guys know how happy you made him! It is kind of ironic that Matthew had his ups and downs this year and so did you guys, but in the end we all came out winners!

God Bless You and all of the 2006 World Champions!

I don't think anyone can top your enthusiasm, John Rodriguez. What a fun October! I feel safe speaking for "my section" of the stadium when I say that section 505 enjoyed the wins and equally enjoyed watching you have so much fun! Congratulations!

J-Rod and the entire Cardinal organization! Thanks for one heck of a year! We believed and YOU DID IT!! WE ARE SO PROUD, EXCITED, & just OVER-THE-TOP! I can only imagine how all of you must be feeling. Sure wished we could have been in St. Louis for the parade and celebration. Does anyone know if they're going to make a DVD? Also, on Friday night I was taping the game and at the end they played "one" by U2. They had a series of pictures from the play offs and the tape cut off. Do you know how I could get a copy? THANKS AGAIN! We're having a Cardinal celebration luncheon on Friday in Albuq. NM Take Wonderful Care! Laura

P.S. Grindline...enjoyed your comments. You're a riot! We'll all be missing "The Daily Grind" Take Care

ajaxmunroe (though I'm sure your won't come back to read any messages): I'm sure that if your team had won the Series, it wouldn't have mattered how the games were played, only that they won. How many people remember that the Twins won only 85 games in 1987? Not many, but everyone knows that they won the Series that year. Sure the Tigers made a lot of errors, but part of winning is in taking advantages of the opportunities that are given you.
Of the Cardinals' 4 starters, only one had an ERA above 3.00, and only one reliever had an ERA above zero. All but three Tigers hitters had a batting average of .200 or below, with an on-base percentage to match. Say what you will about the sloppy play, but the Cards' pitchers dominated just as much as the Cards' hitters were dominated in 2004.

you know what im a big mets fan and i just have one thing to say. You guys ****!
Just kidding, congratulations on winning the WS, you guys deserved it. Being a die hard Met fan it was tough to watch my boys go down, but I have always taken a liking to the good ol' Cards. It was a great series and good job representing the NL so good in the series, let all the critics talk about what an inferior division the NL is now. Well once again congrats to you and all the boys and hopefully we'll be seeing you next year back in the playoffs again.

J-Rod,
Thank you for the inside perspective you gave all us fans with your blog. I hope all of you hold on to this win tight and always remember how sweet it is. I know i will. I have heard storys of grown men crying at the birth of their child or at their wedding. I want everyone to know that this grown man cried as he saw his favorite team in any sport on this planet win what no one except for the players and fans of that team thought they could win. I cried tears of joy with this world series, thank you so much J-Rod, to you and the rest of the team. I hope you guys can repeat.

John,

Thank you so much for your glimpse behind the scenes of the 2006 World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals! (I love how that sounds!)

Thanks again to the entire Cardinals team and organization for epitomizing teamwork, perseverance and class both on and off the field. I am proud to call myself a Cardinals fan.

Finally, thank you to all the fellow Cards fan well-wishers who have included us in their thoughts and prayers, visited my website, emailed me, and even donated to help in the search for a cure for ALS. I am humbled by the outpouring of kindness and good will…but not at all surprised by the support and encouragement of the best fans on the planet! I am also touched by the response from Tigers fans—yes, especially you, Grind!—who went out of their way to send their wishes to me and my son for a wonderful night of memories to last a lifetime.

P.S. For those who are interested, I’ve added a new page—“An Unforgettable Ride”—to my website. (One guess what it’s about…) http://www.askaboutaimee.com

JRod:

If you come across any of the team members who helped with this next year and in the many more to come, thank them for giving this city something very special. Ideally, I and the city wish all could stay, but market forces prevent it. Thank you for the memories. Enjoy. Relax.

John,
THANK YOU,AND THE ENTIRE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS TEAM, FOR AN AWESOME SEASON! And Thanks for the Blog, too. It was nice to have an "inside" look at what you are thinking. This season, like most seasons, I lived for my Cardinal baseball, and a day without a Cardinal game, was... just another day. This post-season, I came to watch the clinching NLDS game against the Padres, the NLCS game against the Mets with the never-ending 6th inning, and game 4 of the WS (should have been there for the winning game 5 - the last game at Busch Stadium for 2006, but the rain-out changed that). My step-son and I came to St. Louis for game 4, found 2 excellent tickets and had the time of our lives. We knew that you guys could win the WS, even though a lot of people doubted you, I told them that "THE CARDINALS ARE BACK, SO LOOK OUT!" My best friend, who is not a baseball fan, told me that I was obsessed this year, and she was right! She also started watching the post-season games, and liked it. She may be a future Cardinal fan.

I hope all of you guys stay in St. Louis for 2007, because you are an AWESOME bunch of guys. You all play hard and 2 outs means nothing, that's when you come alive. And the Little Fireball, (David Eckstein) sure did surprise some teams. He is one Tough Little Bird!

CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING THE WORLD SERIES, AND ENJOY!

Thanks again for the memories,

See ya next year,

Your #1 fan,

Barb Dunlap

P.S. Can't wait for April.

J-Rod- seeing you during the parade was amazing, jumping around in the back of the truck video taping all of us watching you. i could tell it truly was an experience for you, a dream come true. that you were that excited made it worth standing out there. i drove from new mexico to see the world series and my friends all told me i was nuts since the cards didn't stand a chance. but i'm obsessed with watching you guys and never lost faith that you had it in you. i was at busch stadium july 17th when i found out my mother had died in a car accident. i was there sept 27th when albert hit his homerun to salvage the season, i caught that ball. and i was there at game 5 when you won the world series. thank you for the memories the excitement the insight and the amazing season of baseball.
hope to see ya next year!

Congrats to you & the rest of the team. This was one of the best World Series--a true
team effort. John, you are truly one of the nicest, most

down to earth players that I have ever met. I know that you probably do not remember this, but it was last year at the old Busch, towards the end of the season. We had come down the elevator, down by the clubhouse entrance.(because my sister is blind)

You had just come out to go home, my husband called your

name, and you came over. We

introduced you to my sister who is blind. (She is probably one of your biggest fans) You shook her hand, and hugged her and also signed her baseball cap. That

chance meeting has been one of

the greatest memories of her life. Whenever the Cardinals

play, and she is listening to

the game, she has to tell every one about you. I know that this is probably not

possible, but could you get in

touch with us by e-mail, her

baseball cap got wet, and the

autograph has faded. It would mean a lot to her.

This year was hard for her, because tickets were so difficult to obtain. We certainly do wish you a great

"off season", and look forward

to next spring. May God bless

you!! Thanks again!!!

YEHAAA!!!! Let me tell you I am on top of the world right now!!!I can only imagine how you guys feel...I want to thank each and every one of you for the memories..It was fantastic,I had a feeling it was going to happen!!!!The offseason will be hard for us fans,we have nothing to watch. Thanks for the Blog,I really enjoyed the insight, It felt like I was there living the moment with you!!!Thanks again! 2006 what a year! I know where I was!!!!Good luck next season,I will be there!!

I hope this is not to late to get in but,way to go CARDINALS! Congrats to all the guys for playing hard. To the fans, great job on keeping the faith when the press beat the team down from the minute the Cards got into the Playoffs. Jim Rome blasted the Series as the worst ever in histroy. Then he has Edmonds in studio, and he praises the team for coming together & playing well. Talk about two faced. That was a well pitched Series with timely hitting, and solid defense on the Cardinals part, and "That's a Winner!!!" all the time. I am suffering baseball withdraws already.

CONGRATS!! You guys played great! I was there for Game 5. GO CARDS! Know I have nothing to watch! I think Weaver pitched great. No offence to Eckstein but I think Roelen deserved the MVP.

Hey John, I met you at the Cardinals Care dinner at Mike Shannons in July. My husband Greg brought you over to the table. We did not get to meet one another at spring training although my husband greg got you to sign the St. Louis Review for me. At the dinner at Shannons; we talked about how you are enjoying the new chapel at the stadium and how you are taking Bible study on Tuesdays. I just wanted you to know that I found and prayed to St. Sebastian (he is the patron saint of athletes) during all the playoffs and the world Series. I have a picture of him and he has a red robe on. I think he had a helping hand in all the guys doing great. I also got a medal to wear during the world Series. I wore it to the 4th game and was so excited to see such great pitching and fielding. I am going to spring training again this year and I will bring you and David and Suppan a medal and picture for you to keep. Congratulations for all your hard work, spirit and faith. You are truly a role model for all our kids now days. Pat gperdmann@aol.com

as soon as the cardinals won my sister and i just started screaming! then, when my other sister called long distance i just screamed into the phone for two minutes! it seemed like the whole world was going crazy! and the great thing is, the buzz still hasn't worn off!
Sarah

People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. -- Rogers Hornsby
